Frecks & Fresh

Like the dream child of Mazzy Star, Soccer Mommy, and Current Joys, Frecks is an ethereal work of art. Her voice is silky and so easy to listen to, drawing you in from a distance. Her music is therapeutic, putting one at ease for those 4 minutes of music.

All of her releases are dreamy and mesmerizing, everything one could ask for in an up and coming indie artist.

She has recently put out an EP titled, Scorpio Sun, with three installments that dive deeper into her mind in terms of songwriting, love, and nostalgia.

“The Sun” feels like a fresh breath of air. Slightly groovy and an effortless song to dance to with a loved one. The electric guitar along with the sound of crashing waves in the introduction of this song really captures the attention of listeners.

“Alone Again” also has a repetitive guitar riff, keeping it engraved in one’s thoughts as the song progresses. With a wonderful, yet subtle, instrumental build up about a minute in, this single showcases some of Frecks’ best work.

“222” originated from the narrative of a fictional stalker and their unrequited love. However, Frecks mentions that as the songwriting process continued, she was able to reassemble some of the pieces to create a beautiful song about romance. The vocals in this piece truly stand out because of the extra reverb which connotes a much more haunting melody and tune.

As an artist, Frecks is able to portray the delicacy and romantic side of herself through her music. She has a distinct sound that is so reminiscent of so many of her favorite artists and many indie icons throughout the years, but she still carries her individuality within her music, using nostalgia as a device to relay her own emotions in her songs.
